If any one has a 304 or 360 AMC let me know I may need it. It seems like my motor is losing oil pressure.  It only has about 100 hours on it and less than 100 miles but it also sat on a stand for four years.  So if anyone has another motor let me know it looks like I may be needing one.

Alright I have the motor running good now with excellent oil pressure, it was a gauge problem. With open exhaust it was to loud to hear if it was rattling or not. Front brakes are done I have all the parts for the rear brakes and the lines already run so I just have to put them on. Finish my steering and get a new radiator because mine has a hole in it and I think I will be ready to go. Oh I forgot when I went to drive it forward today so I could do some cleaning up as soon as I lock in the front in either high or low it binds up my tranny and t-case I still have to figure that one out so if anybody knows why please help me out because I am stumped. Here is a pic as of today. I took the plastic grill back out because I was messing with electric fans.

Well I got the Scout going made a couple of test runs to Chadwick with no problem. So I decided to take it to Smorr. That didn't work out to well for me, I was there about ten minutes and broke a front pinion so I gutted the front axle and decided I could run some ones in two wheel drive.  Me and my buddy went back out and ran a few trails no problem and then just as we were headed back to the truck I broke a weld on the rear driveshaft and my buddy couldn't get me back up the big hill on ranch road. Brandon then came to my rescue in Ted's Bronco since his Jeep was still getting fixed he couldn't get me back up ranch road either. We then went all the way up the creek bottom and out Pee Wee crossing but about three quarters of the way out I got a front tire hung under a tree root and sheared a front spring in half.
So I came back the next day with a generator and welder and fixed the driveshaft and held the front axle where it was suppossed to be with a comealong and ratchet straps and drove it out.

So after my long winded last response the Scout is under the knife again. Oh i forgot to add I cut a tire unloading the Scout when I got home so if anyone has a 37" tire for a 16.5 rim let me know.  So far I have moved the springs under the axle for a lower center of gravity, did a shackle reversal in the front, moved my tranny crossmember back up for a flat belly, and rebuilt the front axle with some more used gears hopefully these hold up better than the last set.  I should have some pics later today.

Stupid question for you, Are you sure the gear ratio was the same in both the front and rear axle? It would explain the binding and the broken front pinion, not that it matters now. ???

Yeah I got the front end hopping pretty bad, I am guessing since it was the original gearset from a 76' Jeep J20 that they already had weak spot. I just know that the pinion is missing about six teeth now.
