Does anybody know of a way to adapt a passenger side drop t-case to an AW4 tranny. I am thinking a yota t-case is going to be the way to go because they have a 23 spline input and I think are the round 6-bolt pattern like an np231.  I know a D300 will bolt right up but I really don't have the $300 to spend on a t-case right now so I am trying to find some alternatives.

To my knowledge a Toyota t-case is not a 6 bolt round pattern.
However Toyota used a version of the AW4 in some of their vehicles and I have read that you can change the tailhousing to whatever Toyota used and then bolt one up.
I have never seen this and only read about it on the internet so take it for what it's worth.

I did a little research on it and you have to change the tranny output shaft and put on the toyota tailhousing. I think I am just going to save up and get the D300 I have found a couple for less than $300 so I guess that isn't to bad for a t-case.

Yeah I am still trying to figure out what I want to do.  Maybe some of you can help me decide.

Run Np231 swap front axle to drivers drop. Whatever a Ford axle cost me plus setting it up for my Scout
Mate D20 to AW4 I can do that for $150
Mate D300 to  Aw4 buy t-case  plus adapter Roughly $400
Find a Dodge Np241 out of one ton it will supposedly bolt up. Couldn't tell you what that will cost.

Or I don't know.  $10-$1,000,000

The Dana 20 sounds like your cheapest option if you already have the case and axles.  The two adapters I found were in the $500 range, do you already have that?
Next cheapest would probably be the 231, with a Ford or Jeep 44.  Depending on what you spent on the case and axles it may be cheaper to just jump to the 300.

Novak adapters has the adapter for $122 and I already have a D20 round pattern and a D20 texas bolt pattern.  I also have two Np231's. If I can sell the NP231's and the D20's I will go with a D300 I am thinking about getting a ford axle and running the Np231 just because I have one and I would rather have the High Pinion Ford axle I think.  I just am not sure on the strenght of the Np231 with 37 inch tires and the weight of a Scout II

There some things you can do to beef up the 231 if it's out of a jeep.  I think you can add a wider chain and got to a six planetary gearset.

I saw the adapter for 500, but that was a texas pattern I assume, who used a round pattern 20?

Jeep used a round pattern D20 if it was behind a T150 I know for sure and some of the other earlier trannies. It was mainly the T18 D20's that used the texas pattern.
