The mule only has a 4" lift and it has plenty of room for 44's.  38's will fit nice!   ;D

Sawzall is your best friend.

Honestly though.  If I was to install a lift kit on a daily driven truck I would find a track bar setup that will bolt on to the frame and then I would weld it just to have extra assurance that it will stay put.  The larger the tires the more stress that it places on the frame and the bracket. 

If anyone is needing some leafs for their old Fords let me know.  I can get any old parts you would need for dirt cheap.
